Take a look at the link below to see what can be done in 2 Meg of RAM and no hard drive. http://www.cconcepts.co.uk/products/publish.htm Given that this is 12 years old, and there are features like colour separations not in OOo or as far as I know MSO, I think it shows that there is considerable scope to make software more efficient. The assumption that hardware will always eventually cope breeds complacency. I'm probably getting too old but in the dim and dark past when I used to do some programming we even counted and optimised clock cycles and treated RAM like gold dust. Maybe compilers can do it better than people these days, but the outcomes in terms of the size of the applications for the useful advantage they provide over some of this 10 year old stuff seems to suggest some mismatch. Its difficult for me to be any more objective because my developer days are long gone. I'm just suspicious ;-) Ian -- New QCA Accredited IT Qualifications www.theINGOTs.org You have received this email from the following company: The Learning Machine Limited, Reg Office, 36 Ashby Road, Tamworth, Staffordshire, B79 8AQ.
