Hi,

I run a Community Interest Company in the UK - this is a government
idea to promote Social Enterprises. CICs are sort of half way between
a company and a charity, in that they can't make capital profits but
can pay their directors. Anyway, M6-IT is focused on using and
promoting Free Software solutions to charities, voluntary
organisations and education - though we do work with commercial
organisations as well.

We are currently developing a number of training courses and do
OpenOffice training - though we hope to expand this soon. One of our
projects involved getting regeneration funding to install computers
and provide Internet access for socially excluded families. These
boxes run Ubunutu and, of course, OpenOffice.

I'm a member of the Open Document Fellowship, the Open Source
Consortium, the Open Schools alliance, Chair of Schoolforge UK and
various other things, and an advocate of Free Software in general. In
my spare time I look after the computer systems for Birmingham Friends
of the Earth, where I am at the moment, working on their entirely
recycled system of LTSP on Edubuntu, running OpenOffice.

Hope this isn't too much detail, oh - my username is "richardrothwell".

rgds,
Richard
