Very bad idea. I don't think many folks would be particularly enamoured of the idea, and IMO such a thing has the potential to drive people away. FWIW, my default template has a footer which inserts the text "Created by Alex Fisher, using OpenOffice.org 2.4.0" (the version string changes to suit whichever version I'm currently using of course).
