I've been up for way too long but from a user's perspective the
differences between a free as in beer version of MS office and
OpenOffice.org are:
* OpenOffice.org is free in it's entirety, AFAIK MS Office will not.
* OpenOffice.org is under an OSI approved license and will thus
practically remain for ever so, while usage terms of MS Office allow it
to play fair only while it needs to do so.
IMHO, we should present this move as a consequence of OpenOffice.org
been widely used today, thus pressing upon the issue of continuing the
same momentum for the community's benefit.
I'll go finish my beer and java code now.
Cheers,
Manos
