Hi Peter,
oh my god, this sounds as if those OOo fraud thing is being shifted to a
next level. Hopefully this is only a single case where it happens...
Thanks for your patience and for discussing with him!
Florian
Hi Florian,
the guy has been contacting me off-list, as I was the first one who has
been answering him. Looks like, he was overwhelmed by the unexpected
number of emails he was receiving. As this seems to be his first
appearance on a mailing list, he did not understand some of the
features, e.g. getting back his own mails. Worst for him, as I
understood it, some shady characters have been evaluating his email
address using Google, got his phone number and are now annoying him with
advertising services related to OOo. I would not be surprised, if he has
been paying money for OOo at one of these dubious vendors, who exploit
OOo. According to him, he also didn't initiate his subscription to the
mailing list.
So, my conclusion is, that he is a victim of inappropriate businesses
(plural!) around OOo. I'm currently in a calm discussion with him and I
want to find out the real case behind it. We have to get a grip on these
people who are doing business at the expense on OOo's good reputation,
driving some people, like this guy, real mad. I'll be back, if I make
any interesting findings.
Best regards,
Peter

and gentle person from this list. :-)
