Hi everyone,

Perhaps we could work on a release 3.4.1 a (3.4.0 + geoSparql with WGS84) compiled with openjdk 11 (with source without module and jdk 8 style).

By the way on the marmotta site we could change https://cwiki-test.apache.org/confluence/display/marmotta by https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/marmotta

Best,

Alain

Hi Jakob, Andrea,

I wish to use marmotta and KiWi Triplestore. I deal with spatio-temporal data. So, I need GeoSparql (Branch 584) and use this branch.

I've proposed a patch (29 August ). I use marmotta with postgresql 11.6 and openjdk-11. I've used also Strabon (http://www.strabon.di.uoa.gr/) and Oracle (Semantic).

I haven't use yet  the KiWi reasoner but it's seems important for me (I have use Jess and SWRL).

After sesame 2.7 database backend was lost. I don't know how it works with MARMOTTA-659.

Best,

Alain

For me it's good to have a database with a spatial extension.

Hi Alain, Andrea,

from my perspective, the main goal would be to get some fresh views and
ideas on the project, but also some "code work".
The current codebase is pretty much outdated regarding dependencies and
such and would very much benefit from some updates here. But we already
have a long going upgrade branch for our main dependency OpenRDF Sesame to be updated to RDF4J (MARMOTTA-659). But also documentation, etc... hasn't
been touched for quite some time.

You can see, Marmotta has been dormant for a long time - any help would be
appreciated!

Best,
Jakob

Hi everyone,

Apache Marmotta, an open Platform for Linked Data. This is how the
project started in December 2012 when it entered the Apache Incubator.
It was a state-of-the-art (and partially beyond) software platform.
A SQL-based triple store with a performant SPARQL-Implementation. You
could run SPARQL-Queries on a full DBpedia import!
With ld-path and ld-cache we offered libraries that allow to consume
linked data in real-world usecases.
And last but not least, Apache Marmotta became (and is) a reference
implementation of the Linked Data Platform (W3C-Rec.) [2]

In the last years, Apache Marmotta has been dormant. The latest release
was in June 2018. The last commit also. Also the mailing-lists have
been
silent for several months now.
All these are signals that it's time to consider moving the project to
the Attic [2].

If volunteers are willing to step up and continue the project, now is
the (last) chance to do so. I'd be happy to help transitioning the
project management to new heads!
Otherwise I'll prepare to move the project to the Attic in with the May
board report.

Best,
Jakob
