Right. That's one of the reasons because in Marmotta we decided to adopt a homogeneous release cycle for all artifacts.
But I guess the release plugin won't work fine on projects with different versioning schemas per module, as happens in Stanbol. For that, maybe you could take a look to the versions plugin:
