I would like to pull back this vote, unless someone objects. On the one hand, the problem with the release plugin and git is already addressed in 1.9.1. On the other hand, there are some lingering pull requests, some of which look reasonable, so it seems unkind to release without them. I'll wait until tomorrow AM EDT; if no one disagrees, I'm going to cancel this, and post up a vote for the release plugin using 1.9.1.
