I would like to start making a distinction here. A committer for maven-plugins is fine, but not for the core. If this distinction is fine, which we can control with the cvs avail file then I'm +1, otherwise I'm -1 for simple fact that people working on plugins don't necessarily know anything about the core, will most likely not work on it and therefore are not entitled to vote on core issues because they work on plugins.
