Sorry Vincent, this didn't make sense to me. Did you want to remove the
announcement files from CVS because they can now be generated from from the
plugin?

+1 but for a completely different reason - I don't think they belong there
in the first place :) Announcements should be for mailing lists and blogs
and that's enough history for me. Release notes contain everything else and
should be in CVS already.
