Please note because of the fix done on MPJAVA-22 we cannot run maven in non Java5 JREs
such as IBM JDK 1.3

Description:
The default target is 1.1 and the source is using 1.5 which is preventing builds.
This is contrary to what maven.compile.source is using by default (the default should
be 1.3 according to http://maven.apache.org/reference/plugins/java/properties.html)
