I wish I could. That was one thing that I stumbled on while going over
the docs. Should I remove it or is it necessary? The closest I have
gotten is finding out what "extensions" means in the pom reference:

"Whether to load Maven extensions (such as packaging and type handlers)
from this plugin. For performance reasons, this should only be enabled
when necessary."
It might have something to to with custom packaging, but I'm not sure.
Hopefully someone else has an idea.
