However, one last question: I do read your words mainly targeted
on work on "official" Maven plugins. Is that so (in which case I
understand that even Apache committers should still use the Mojo
project to create new plugins) or do I get you wrong (in which case
I assume that your words apply to new plugins as well)? I am
asking, because the PMC will (quite understandably) be not so much
interested in having a vote on maven-yet-another-one-plugin every
week?
For all Maven related projects we're going to setup sandboxes for
collaboration. So this means here @ Apache for SCM, Wagon, Continuum,
Doxia, Surefire, Archiva, Maven 2.x, Maven 1.x, and the plugins. At
Codehaus for Plexus, Modello, and Mojo.
So it's for everything related to Maven. We want to bring in
contributors for the whole family of projects.
I don't think we will be adding many new plugins here at Apache and
we consider Mojo an equal wrt hosting plugins. The mojo groupId is a
default as well when dealing with plugins so at Apache or Codehaus it
makes no difference where you work or what you work on.
As far as voting if you've made improvements, applied patches,
updated doco and are closing out issues then you can release it as
often as you like and we'll vote as often as you prepare a release.
Voting for releases isn't onerous and we'll figure out how to take
advantage of you! :-)
