I wrote most of what's in HausMail but it's been about a year since I've done any real work on it. HausMail is a server side SMTP protocol handler based largely on Apache JAMES. It supports pluggable SMTP authentication, StartTLS, and basic SMTP functionality. HausMail is not perfect by any means and it's still alpha quality code. There's a lot to SMTP that it still needs to be implemented. HausMail also doesn't do anything with the emails it receives other than spit them out to the console.
If you need something for a proof-of-concept, HausMail might work well for you. If you need a real SMTP server built on MINA, HausMail probably won't help you in its current state. I'm hoping to eventually get HausMail to the point that it's a robust pluggable server side SMTP protocol handler. I would also like to move HausMail over to MINA as a sub-project. The goal would be to create a server side SMTP protocol handler that could potentially be plugged into Apache JAMES or other Java based SMTP servers. Whether or not I'm ever able to find the time to bring this to fruition is another story. If someone wanted to start helping with this goal, I would be happy to support them but I don't have the time right now to lead such a project. If I ever finish my masters thesis... Stefano, maybe you and I should try to collaborate and share some of our ideas for a MINA based SMTP protocol handler. I would love to see what you're working on. -Mike On 7/13/07, Stefano Bagnara <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

HausMail, here: http://hausmail.safehaus.org/ I also am working on an open source MINA based smtp client/server solution, but it is still work in progress / prototype, so I don't know when I will publish it.
