How about doing (future) releases by first branching and then
releasing from the branch? Any fixes to the release goes into the
branch and trunk. And new development can continue on trunk as normal.
When the vote is done, we move the branch into a tag and we're done.
This is the process I use, for among other things, FtpServer and I
find it works great.
This is just what I will do.
