[~twolf] These a very good points - my intention with this issue was indeedÂ
+not+ to actually implement the full support for this extension. Rather provide
client-side support (which is easy) and modify {{SftpSubsystem}} in such a way
as to facilitate extending it so that users who do feel "adventurous" and
willing to undertake this task will find it easier to implement this in
whichever way they wish to interpret the extension behavior. I have no
intention to provide an implementation of our own not only because of the
points you have raised but also because there are many unanswered problems
(such as encoding/decoding issues at either client or server) that I have no
wish to engage...
