Because - unless you suppress it - the snapshot file name includes a timestamp,
e.g.
https://repository.apache.org/content/groups/snapshots/org/apache/mina/mina-core/3.0.0-M3-SNAPSHOT/mina-core-3.0.0-M3-20130806.130601-2.jar
