hi list, I found sreadahad (1.0) is independent of the file system type. And some report shows Ubuntu 9.04 have much improvement about bootup time ( compare to Ubuntu 8.10 ) and it is use ext4. I'd like to know to you have plan to use "sreadahead + ext4" for moblin2.
we don't have plans to go to ext4; first of all it's still a very early stage in its maturity, and for us it just does not bring enough difference to justify that. Instead we are actively looking at BTRFS (and helping out with that); BTRFS is looking like it will give a real performance and feature improvement over the EXTx series of file systems. Having said that, BTRFS is not ready today, so for Moblin 2.0 this is obviously not being considered. _______________________________________________ Moblin dev Mailing List [email protected] To manage or unsubscribe from this mailing list visit: https://lists.moblin.org/mailman/listinfo/dev or your user account on http://moblin.org once logged in.
