Hi,
I got the latest Moblin image from the web site and burned it onto a USB memory
stick. I want to install Moblin onto an Asus EeePC 901, fresh out of the box.
I am able to boot from the USB stick & run the live demo.
When I try to "boot and install", I am guided through the installation process.
I specify language, time zone, password; the hard disk partition is written;
everything looks good. The installer tells me it has successfully completed.
When a reboot, a few seconds after the splash screen, I get the following error:
fsck.ext3: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/sda5
/dev/sda5:
The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2
filesystem. If the device is valid and it really contains an ext2 filesystem
(and not swap or ufs or something else), then the superblock is corrupt, and
you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock:
ef2fsck -b 8193 <device>
I tried this: ef2fsck -b 8193 /dev/sda5. It complained about a bad magic
number in the superblock and repeated the same error.
I have tried this several times with the same results.
Help!
Thanks,
Jim Harford (Dr. Disco)
