Hi Jim,
Jim Harford a écrit :
fsck.ext3: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/sda5
/dev/sda5:
The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2
filesystem. If the device is valid and it really contains an ext2 filesystem
(and not swap or ufs or something else), then the superblock is corrupt, and
you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock:
ef2fsck -b 8193 <device>
I got the same on a Dell optiplex. Just doing 'fsck /dev/sda5' (without
-b) sometimes let me go on.
I first saw this after I tried to boot with kernel I compiled myself,
then it occured randomly also with original moblin's netbook kernel. I
don't know what is the issue. I guess it is one of the following :
- hardware (my dell optiplex is not a netbook !).
- my own kernel broke something.
- moblin alpha2 issue.
