Hi David,
The / file system free space you see is different to overlay size you
can write. As my understanding, that means you could have 500M overlay. If you
want to use large overlay file such as 1500M, then you should enlarge 1000M
size to the / file system at least.
Overlay file is a raw image in the liveusb. Moblin2 will mount it as
writable file system during Live U-disk image. It's size is the real size you
can write.
Best regards

Hi shuang,
When I encountered this issue, I noticed that the / file system has about 500M
free space. So I confused why this issue happens.
Best regards,

Hi David,
To expand the free space you want to use, you could create a moblin2
image with large overlay file using MIC2. The command line could be:
moblin-image-creator --config=<your ks file> --format=liveusb
--cache=<your cache dir> --overlay-size-mb=<reserved free space you want>
and you should expand the / partition size accordingly in the kickstart
file.
To solve the boot issue you met, you could mount your U-disk first in a
linux OS, and delete some file to enlarge free disk space.
FYI.
Best regards

Subject: [Moblin Dev] encounter bus error when copying many files or uncompress
tar file
Dear all,
I made an usb live image using Sandisk 2.0GB u disk. I can boot moblin alpha 2
usb live image (20090311) successfully on my HP laptop. However, when I tried
to copy many files (about 100M) into / file system or using tar command to
uncompress file. I always encountered the bus error issue.
In addition, If I try to boot the moblin 2 again after encountering this issue,
the moblin 2 can’t be booted successfully sometimes. It seems that file system
has been destroyed.
Thanks for your help in advance!
David Xiang
