Yes, these are Intel video cards in general and Xorg.log shows dri2 enabled. The flashing is not like a display artifact or compositing error but rather a complete change of focus with foreground/background switch.

Hmm...maybe spoke too soon. I saw dri2 being loaded but didn't notice the "AIGLX: Screen 0 is not DRI2 capable" and "DRI2 requires UXA". I guess I'll have to figure that out. The same hardware runs the beta just fine so obviously there's something wrong with our X configuration.

Aha! AccelMethod = uxa in the xorg.conf worked like a charm. I guess your Xorg uses uxa by default. Thanks for the help.


if you use GEM and KMS (which you want anyway) UXA is default.
