You can read data off the device (iirc the device just shows up as a
serial port), but that specific device is using a non-standard
proprietary binary protocol, so gypsy or gpsd isn't able to make sense
of the data stream.
The name of the vendor escapes me, but I have been told they do have
proprietary software that can be licensed for a specific solution (which
doesn't help out with generic, freely redistributable Moblin.)
Perhaps somebody on the list remembers the vendor (or better yet has an
email contact).
