We've been successful getting the UBlox device turned on in Moblin(with the 
assistance of the Intel field guys for Compal) and we've also been successful 
with the assisted GPS capability offered by UBlox to decrease the TTFF on the 
device.

I'm sending you the short program that was written in our team to turn the 
device on in Moblin (works in Midinux as well). The assisted GPS support for 
the NEO-4S is on the UBLOX website.

You can read data off the device (iirc the device just shows up as a
serial port), but that specific device is using a non-standard
proprietary binary protocol, so gypsy or gpsd isn't able to make sense
of the data stream.

The name of the vendor escapes me, but I have been told they do have
proprietary software that can be licensed for a specific solution (which
doesn't help out with generic, freely redistributable Moblin.)

Perhaps somebody on the list remembers the vendor (or better yet has an
email contact).
