Thx Auke,
I'll post here. if my expectations are in error, i need to be told.
please top-quote bottom-post, thanks.
first, i use an SD media as my shuttle between my fc11 development host and my
moblin running on an EeePC 1000.
i would insert this SD media in the netbook and boot from the usb thumb drive
(i am still saving my xandros partitions until moblin is a bit more stable).
in my early use, this SD media would be detected on boot and mounted on
/media/disk/..
this is the 'broken issue' i tried to communicate.
i certainly can work around this by doing a manual mkdir /media/disk and
mounting the /dev/sdd1 on it, but!!!
is not the earlier behaviour correct?
No. We do not want removable media to be automounted for several reasons:
- it costs time (a lot)
- many people have cards and such just endless idling in a system and never use
them
- the files on the media are one click away anyway
to name a few.
Cheers,
Auke
