I tried “#bootchart -o test.png /var/log”, but get errors ”IOError: error while
writing to output stream”, while “#bootchart /var/log” works fine.

Thanks

Now, don't need trouble like that.

In the recently moblin image, you can achieve that by:

bootchart -o test.png /var/log --> to get the png file in Moblin directly

Or you can:

bootchart /var/log --> to see the picture launched in Moblin directly

I’m not sure why the PNG file wasn’t generated in /var/log/ in your netbook.

But one workaround is to copy bootchart.tgz to your working PC (Linux system
such as installed FC10), yum install bootchart on your working PC, then use
command “#bootchart bootchart.tgz” to generate the PNG file.

Thanks

I've installed bootchart from the moblin repo, and after booting up, it creates
/var/log/bootchart.tgz. However I am not seeing the PNG file as mentioned
above. It appears that the moblin build of bootchart doesn't depend on java
for creating the graphical output, and instead installs /usr/bin/bootgraph.py,
which I see can create SVG files from dmesg output. However I am not seeing how
to use it for the bootchart.tgz output. What am I missing? Thanks!
