now I remember! after latest upgrades I had 2 moblin entries in grub at bootime and in the menu.lst file.. I didn't notice they were related to two different kernels so I just deleted one (the new one just generated) to avoid having two choices at bootime.. doh.. stupid me!
so that's very probably the reason of my problem..
