In theory, the Moblin IVI release with the IEGD drivers included would work and

launching the Moblin UX with these drivers though. I seem to recall people

IEGD is generally only for embedded systems....
Genuine question, but what's so embedded about it ?
Is it that the target platforms of Menlow etc are sold to manufacturers as
embedded x86 platforms or that the IEGD drivers themselves are somehow not
suitable for a desktop/netbook type setup.
IEGD is created by Intels embedded group. They focus only on those systems (in general) that their customers use. That includes the exact
chips but also output screens etc.. so if your device happen to have a 100% match, you're lucky,.., otherwise not so much.
Also they tend to not do autodetect so much, you need to specify exactly what
configuration you have (which for embedded devices is fine)
