Hi there,
I was busy with other open-source activities the last time and time is little
anyways. As the original author of the plugin I want to put my two cents in
here:
I started a new MOJO that aims to bring all these deployment packaging stuff
together. I was quite enthusiastic and started a thread on this list for
discussion (30.10.2007 23:14). However I got no response...
IIRC I replied to that asking for more details, but didn't get much.
Anyways, we're both here now.
Now I see that there is some activity that shows that there should be more
interest. Maybe you want to give me some feedback. I also had questions about
using other ASL software as dependency that also requires java5+ in a MOJO.
BTW thanks for maintenance on solaris-maven-plugin...
It seems you moved the plugin out of sandbox, rewrote the scripts as Java-MOJOs,
etc.
A short hint to let me know would have been nice though I updated
svn and failed because the original source had been deleted...
But maybe you pointed this out on the list and I missed it...
I both pointed it out to the list and emailed you directly, so I assumed
you where MIA.
My vision is still that we could bring the rpm-maven-plugin, deb-maven-plugin,
solaris-maven-plugin, etc. together. So please let me know if there is interest
and I could commit my new plugin (work in progress) to sandbox.
Sounds like a good idea, but I need a plan that cover the bigger
picture. Good idea, and good initiative, we just need a plan.
I would like to release a first version of the solaris-maven-plugin.
I've written up some documentation and uploaded it to [1]. The it
includes an example project called "myapp" that live in subversion [2]
next to the plugin and is referenced from the documentation.
The main goal behind this release is to get it "out there" so that it is
easy for people go get it and try it out. It is fully functional, as in
'it works for me', but I would like to get some more feedback and new
use cases.
I fixed a bug december, 8. 2007 to make the plugin usable.
Seems you became quite active since mid of january...
Also, if someone find bugs in the documentation (including missing
docs), feel free to let me know.

I'm really busy this and next week but after that I have time to take
care of the issues filed in JIRA and get a new alpha out. I also have
new places to use the plugin now so a beta and 1.0 should be releasable
within a couple of months.
