Milos Kleint commented on MNBMODULE-33:
---------------------------------------
I'm wondering if my future work on composing the netbeans installation from
nbms on remote repositories could eventually render this issue obsolete. I
guess I need to check what is happening in the netbeans build script..
I'm not against the patch in general, it just seemed strange to force chmod on
every startup of the app. I would say that should be happening just once when
constructing the final binaries.
BTW ue of ant's chmod task might provide simple codebase. We import ant anyway,
so there's not much difference in terms of dependencies downloaded and used.
> nbexec might lack exeution permissions

> In our setup we use an artifact with our netbeans platform suite instead of
> the netbeans installation of the current workstation. When doing this on
> linux and osx we get errors starting the application with the run-platform
> target because the extracted artifact (a zip-file) does not keep the
> execution permissions on the starter.
> This patch runs a chmod if the starter lacks execution permission on unix
> os:es.
