Oki, as far as this goes:

There are multiple reasons for having this situation:

1.) some companies need features of plugins which although are checked in to
the Apache SVN already are not released yet. If you like/need to use these new
features you will have to run a 'local release' in your company. Otherwise the
release-plugin will complain about the SNAPSHOT version of this plugin.

I have a few plugins patched and those patches have been sent to the codehaus
list too.

The full versions usually are located on http://ns1.backwork.net/git

The interesting ones are

1.) kodo-maven-plugin.git - This contains a few enhancements on Brians original
kodo plugin. I don't know how many folks do use kodo still, but there are now
additional tags for creating sql and schema-mapping.

2.) openjpa-maven-plugin.git - Rahul already pulled a lot of changes, but there
are still a few (most of them a result of Benjamin's review) which are not
checked in to SVN yet since Rahul has not much time currently.

3.) webtest-maven-plugin.git - This Canoo plugin is written by Sigi Goeschl (a
real maven dinosaur, I bet Jörg knows him still from
maven-plugins.sourceforge.net) and he also posted to this list. But I remember
that he got no response yet ... Latest plugin can be downloaded at
http://people.apache.org/~sgoeschl/download/maven-plugins/webtest-maven-plugin/
I honestly think this would be a very valuable contribution since many people
on the canoo list seems to use it happily.

You can ignore maven-scm-providers-git.git and maven-scm-plugin.git, since
Jason pulled this already and the whole stuff is now officially part of
maven-scm-1.1 since september last year.

So I would be happy if anyone can do anything with our code, and if we could
move this over to codehaus. There should also be no legal problem, since both
Sigi and me have IACL on record and are Apache committers.

LieGrue,
strub
