We are hitting this same problem. I'm thinking that a general
extraCompilerOptions configuration would be an improvement over a
target-specific option.
But then if this mojo is going to be providing a JRCompiler then it might be
useful to make it a bridge to plexus-compiler-api instead of persisting with
Runtime.exec("javac").
