Currently, add-third-party refuses to run with a message of "The goal is skip
due to packaging 'pom'". However, many projects list their packaging as "pom"
as a workaround for only generating assemblies or rpms. These use cases are
not especially rare.
Could this check be removed or, at the very least, an option added to override
it?
