Guillaume CERNIER commented on MJS-46:
--------------------------------------

Hello Christopher,

Thanks for your answer.

A 2.0.0-alpha version would be fine for us, as long as all the dependency tree
of the javascript-maven-tools / javascript-maven-plugin artefacts (transitive
dependencies etc...) have no longer -SNAPSHOT reference in their version.

If the version does not contain "-SNAPSHOT", it is a release, so "-alpha" or
whatever the classifier is ok.

How much time would you think to need to deploy such a "-alpha" version in the
release repository ?

NB : The 2.0.0-SNAPSHOT of the 12th march (version 2.0.0-20120312.071200-17)
worked fine for our purposes, and could be a good candidate for a such "-alpha"
version.

> Hello,
> In fact, it seems that there is not any release version for
> javascript-maven-tools / javascript-maven-plugin artefacts.
> This is a problem in companies like mine where Nexus/Maven policies,
> following the best practices, are to not depend on SNAPSHOT versions of
> 3rd-party libraries, for obvious reasons of build stability.
> As you can see, even for the 2.0 "release" (mentioned here :
> http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MJS/fixforversion/18220), there is no
> javascript-maven-plugin artefact in the Codehaus-Releases repository :
> while, of course, the 2.0.0-SNAPSHOT well exists in Codehaus-Snapshots :
> Thanks in advance.
> Best regards,
> Guillaume
