If not possible by configuration, I would prefer the feature to be disabled all together. Since findbugs 2, it seems like http://update.findbugs.org/update-check is contacted every time a project is built and the findbugs plugin is invoked. It would great to be able to disable this feature for maven builds. Furthermore, If update-checking is not disabled in the build configuration, it should still be disabled when building in offline mode (-o flag present in maven command line). I've tried several approaches to disable the update check, but have failed so far. Eg including the noUpdateChecks.jar as a plugin dependency had no effect.
