I just tried to deploy the .war created by the maven archtype. On execution, all you get is a blank screen (no hello world :). Is anyone else having this problem ?

Oliver was our resident TCK pro, and he went through quite an ordeal to get the thing running with MyFaces if my memory serves me. I'm pretty sure some of the other committers managed to get it working too (it was a while ago, but I seem to remember that some of the tests were flawed and needed patching). Hopefully the version he was working on is still available somewhere ?

On the testing side, I thought I'd follow the maven build procedure as described on the wiki, and have the following feedback:

The build takes a LONG time compared to the old ant method. For me, it took 24 minutes 55 seconds. This is to be expected, as maven does a lot of file transfers the first time around. However, the following frequently occuring message leads me to believe that we can speed things up:

[WARNING] Unable to get resource from repository apache-maven-snapshots (http://cvs.apache.org/maven-snapshot-repository )

This takes a while to timeout before it tries another location. I'm a maven-newbie, so perhaps one of our maven experts has some input on that one. If it is as simple as clearing some old info out of my local repository, I think we need to make that clear on the wiki.

I'll try the latest svn version on my local app now and see if anything breaks.

I have a three day weekend now.  Are there areas we should focus on?  Where does one obtain a copy of the TCK?
