Okay, since Flash is ubiquitous and freely available, I did not expect issues regarding support of Flash [only of Flex which has been open sourced through MPL]. As mentioned by Grant in the below post, Apache has projects that supports PDF and Excel [which too are ubiquitous with the second one having a fee], so don't know why Flash is an issue to be supported by Apache.
One additional note that I did not wish to bring up previously when this debate began is, why has Apache actually supported the Java language when it was proprietary to Sun? I mean under the statement that Apache should only promote open source tools, then it should have used other language that was not owned by a specific company. That's my thought regarding this issue.
