That is a good point.  I agree that the readme files definitely do need
some work.

You are saying the "-b1" should go at the end of the filename?  I.e.,

    apache-larva-0.8.0-incubating-b1.tgz

(in the release candidate, the "-b1" is before "-incubating").

That sounds like a good idea.  This is a change we should incorporate
into the next release.  Too bad there will be a naming inconsistency
among the first two releases (assuming the vote for this one passes),
but that is certainly not a major issue.

Marko already answered this question directly, but I want to add that we
do have plans to run automated tests on a variety of hardware, rather
than just the x86 simulator.  The Mynewt testutil library that we use
for the simulated tests was written with this use case in mind.  Of
course, it will take quite a bit of work to get this fully up and
running :).
