c) could be "only disadvantages" as well. * no threading when browsing the archives * sorting by subject/author/by thread is done alphabetically and there is no way to limit the display to a certain timeframe or filter the list in any way. * searching the archives is very limited and unreliable (wrong results, different arguments cannot be combined properly) * when things break it takes years to have it fixed (text-search for german-lang archieves is still not available http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=32135 has been filed on Jul 27 but is still not fixed. The MailingList-Archives is the part that sucks the most on OOo. > If you think there are good reasons to switch to openoffice.org mailing > lists, please help me to persuade my community. No. There are no good reasons to switch. There are only reason why you sould not switch. > I do not think that > reasons like "There is one OOo community after all" or "We need to get > stats of your activity" would suffice. For this it would be enogh to subscribe the list to your existing mailing-list. ciao Christian -- NP: Faith No More - King For A Day --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
