The Italian NL community is going to ask for such an integration in
version 2.1.

You might want to start early. The review process may take a while...

We have a dictionary and thesaurus available, both under GPL 2. We feel
that, as Pavel already pointed out, the definite way out in this case is
to receive a clear answer to
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=65039
which is now in its sixth months of processing without any substantial
developments.

I don't expect a quick answer on the general question raised in issue 65039. But Martin will certainly push the review on a case by case basis.

So, while still keeping some faith that issue 65039 will be closed
sooner or later, we have been tracking copyright holders of our tools
for 30 days and we are now close to have them all agree to make the
Italian dictionary and thesaurus available for inclusion in the
OpenOffice.org 2.1 build packaged and distributed by SUN under the LGPL
version 2.1.

Could someone please fix a deadline and a process to have our tools
included by SUN in its OOo 2.1 builds under the (obviously acceptable)
conditions set in the paragraph above?

Thanks for taking relicensing into consideration. I guess you would like to see the dictionaries included and not the tools, right?

Please understand that, as this has been a major effort, we are not
going to engage in an undertaking we cannot successfully conclude. So we
(and, I believe, all NL communities) would like to receive real answers,
like "If modified linguistic tools allowing for inclusion in OOo 2.1 are
ready by Oct XY, then they will make it into the build" rather than
answers like "I think it might be done but decision depends on someone
else". Of course, we can provide any information you may need.

Sorry, I don't think we are able to provide this deadline.
The initial legal review does not depend on the availability of the final version of the dictionary. The earlier you submit the request the earlier it will be included. So why not send it today?

Greetings
Stefan
