Well, maybe its a bit weasly as a solution, but we could make the argument that since 12.0 is an LTS, we could say that we don’t support this kind of scenaio. I.e., an LTS implies a new major release — a fresh blank page. And in the meantime we’d work on fixing this for 12.1 and later, maybe backported to 12.0.
