Did you read the proposal in full?! I know some of those currently actively working on the NetBeans codebase have expressed some bafflement at this, given we neither support Android nor have any tests for it ... Nevertheless, the proposal deliberately addresses the issue of specific modules being nominated and advertised to continue supporting JDK 8. In which way does that not address the Android concern, and what would need to be amended to address it? In particular, are you prepared to provide an accurate list of modules that currently do support Android, that you have a requirement to keep supporting Android, and that you can provide tests for that guarantee we don't break Android compatibility in future even with JDK 8 support, etc.?
