It is frowned upon to ship binaries made by any third party including upstreams. Its a purity thing in a sense, ability to ensure whats in resulting binary, etc. Why Oracle JDK is disliked, but OpenJDK has to be bootstrapped with existing JDK or build all the way from 1.5 up to current. Which gets ridiculous when talking 10 and 11... -- William L.
