Demonstrate NB 9, using 8.2 plugins. It's confusing enough with the transition as it is, but demonstrating that a) 9 is out and b) it works with legacy stuff should help encourage folks that they can not just start using it, but rely on it. I'd even demonstrate getting some plugins. Like, perhaps, installing the PHP modules in to 9 live, to show how easy it is, and that NB 9 is not just a Java SE IDE. That way you kind of get a quick "state of netbeans" in to the discussion without fixating on it, and able to move ahead with actual NB demos.
