You don't need an Apache invitation to GitHub. You are a committer already. You just need to connect your Apache ID to Apache NetBeans GitHub. To do that, go here:
https://gitbox.apache.org In the above, click 'Link GitHub and ASF accounts (required to push to GitHub)'. I'm going to be off line for a few hours, others will be able to help, but the above is all you need to do.
