Okay, my experiments with java.logging were messed up.  I don’t need the 
--add-modules, for javac either… I suspect that happened while I had some other 
confusion, maybe I was trying to use a module-info.java file before I realized 
you can’t use those for non-trivial applications because “dependencies”

But the auto-complete thing is real.  It also remains a mystery why 
java.util.logging is shown as an error for Gradle projects.
