Team, We have made great progress on a large number of features and fixes for NiFi 2.0.0. The Jira version page for 2.0.0 [1] lists almost 900 issues! At the same time, we have 250 issues tagged for version 1.24.0 [2].
Although there is still more work to do for a full release of 2.0.0, I believe we are at a good point to release a milestone version. Releasing 1.24.0 at the same time will also provide the latest upgrades, plus new features and deprecations that will help prepare for upgrading to 2.0.0. We have informally referred to the initial release as a milestone version, so it seems like officially naming it 2.0.0-M1 would be the most straightforward option. There are a couple more open issues that I believe we can wrap up in the next few days, but otherwise we should be able to target early next week for preparing a release build. With the goal of coordinating a release of multiple versions, I would be glad to handle release manager duties for one of the versions.
