Yep, publishing releases is completely in bounds.

I get the desire to move forward quickly, and I wish there was more
information available about the infra docker effort so that y'all could
make an informed decision.

I'd ask that you at least ping the INFRA ticket first to see if they're
prepared to share more about schedule, capability, or migration paths (and
to make sure infra is aware that you're moving forward in the mean time).
