db.injector.preserve.metadata is probably not the best name for it as we also 
preserve the status.

Maybe we should distinguish between 
db.injector.overwrite => just take the newly injected entry and forget the old 
entry.
db.injector.update => metadata, score and fetchinterval set if specified in new 
entry. Existing metadata which are not present in the injected entry are kept
