Hi Tomek,

The approach you're describing is fundamentally a thin glue layer — clone a
Zephyr commit, write some adaptation shims, update the hash when needed.
That works for NimBLE because NimBLE was designed with an OSAL abstraction
layer from the start.

Zephyr's Bluetooth stack is completely different: it has no OSAL, it
directly calls Zephyr kernel APIs throughout the entire stack, and Zephyr
upstream has zero intention of supporting their Bluetooth host running on
other RTOS.

In PR #20686 https://github.com/apache/nuttx/pull/20686, the end goal I'm
working toward is running the Bluetooth stack in NuttX's kernel/protected
build mode. This requires pushing the L2CAP layer down into kernel space —
which is how UNIX-like systems structure their protocol stacks. Your
proposal to keep zblue in nuttx-apps with unchanged upstream Zephyr code
has two fundamental problems:

   1. It makes L2CAP kernel-side integration impossible without massive
rework — the kind of rework that essentially becomes the adaptation I've
   already done in libs/zblue.
   2. It leaves us with something that is still not a NuttX-native solution
   — it's an external blob with glue, not a properly integrated protocol stack.

That's the core architectural difference. I'm not just trying to get
something working quickly; I'm trying to do it right.

BRs,
